Lok Sabha Elections 2024: On May 20, 2024 in Mumbai Lok Sabha Elections Voting was held for. In such a situation, veteran stars of the film industry had reached the polling booth to vote. After voting, the stars also shared pictures of voting on their social media. While posting a video on social media, actress Gauhar Khan was seen angry over the voting management, on which now film maker Ashok Pandit has scolded her.
A video of Ashok Pandit has surfaced in which he has praised the voting management. He said- ‘Being a Mumbaikar, I am thankful to the Election Commission and all the departments that are associated with the Election Commission. The way they conducted the voting, all the government employees were working hard continuously for 6 months.’
‘Educated people say weird things…’
After this, Ashok Pandit, without taking the name of Gauhar Khan, said, ‘Despite all the hard work done by the voting management, an actress came out of the polling booth fuming and started telling that Aadhaar card is used here and there. It is surprising that educated people say strange things. When the Election Commission has been reminding for so long that whether you followed these formalities or not, whether you did this work or not, then this is the situation.
‘Before pointing fingers at others…’
Ashok Pandit further said- ‘So many people voted, I voted so why can’t you. I think people take things for granted and give lectures later. Shortcomings remain but before pointing fingers at others, we have to look at ourselves whether we followed the formalities that we should have done.
Gauhar Khan had said this
Let us tell you that Gauhar Khan had said in the video- ‘If we are not considered citizens to vote then why do we have Aadhaar cards? Your Aadhaar card is your identification that you are an Indian citizen and you should be allowed to vote with it. But when you go to the polling counters with our Aadhar card and ID proof, they say you cannot vote because your name is not in the list.
